Heartland JETAA 3/11 Memorial Events During Naka-Kon
In memoriam of the 4th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, Heartland JET Alumni Association, in conjunction with Naka-Kon, will present a series of commemorative events this week.
On Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. we will screen Live Your Dream, The Taylor Anderson Story at the Overland Park Convention Center in the main ballroom.
On Saturday we will sponsor a performance by Kokyo Taiko at 1:30 in the Conference Center Main Concourse. This group is led by HJETAA Nebraska Sub-Chapter Rep. Maureen Brase-Houchin.
Following the Taiko at 4:30 will be a screening of Tohoku Tomo in the Juniper Room. Director Wesley Julian will lead an open forum discussion of the film and the recovery effort in Tohoku at 6:00 in the Leatherwood (1) Room.
No admission will be charged for these events but we request you send us your name in advance so we can give a list to Event Security. Full Access Badges to Naka-Kon can be purchased on the day if you're interested in attending the full conference.
Please RSVP with your name and the screening event(s) you plan to attend to: president@heartlandjetaa.org
Again, while there will be no cost for these HJETAA sponsored events, admission badges will be required for all other venues. If Naka-Kon Security asks, just tell them you're there for the Heartland JETAA events.
