General Meeting: Lindsay Rice Yoshida - Living in Japan

Over three years living in Yokohama, Japan, JAS member Lindsay experienced so much -- her own marriage ceremony, a medical surgery, a police investigation, the 2011 earthquake and aftermath, a funeral ceremony, and more everyday occurrences like communication frustrations at the grocery store, and sushi zumi squeezes on the bus up to the home she shared with her Japanese husband on a cherry blossom lined street near a shrine, an 80 year old cemetery and a spectacular small vegetable farm. While in Japan, Lindsay navigated through traditions and etiquette with her Japanese in-laws, spent countless hours teaching adults and children, participated in a Japanese speech contest and fell in love with the land, its people, cultural celebrations, hot springs and so much delectable food. Come listen to her insider stories and view photos of her life in Japan.
